BREAKING NOVEL PROSPEROUS GROUNDS IN SIERRA LEONE
BREAKING NOVEL PROSPEROUS GROUNDS IN SIERRA LEONE
On June 14, 2019, the management of KISDO INTERNATIONAL sent a high powered delegation headed by the chairman and founder, Mr. Moses Sahr Fayiah and Mr. Allen Bundor on a fact finding mission to open a new branch in Koidu town, Kono district. This is in line with one of its goals of reaching every kissi communities of Sierra Leone. They were received by the ever determined acting district chairman Mr. John Tamba Kpaleyea and a cross section of the kissi elders and youth.
In his opening address, Mr. Moses Fayia outlined some of the achievements of KISDO in Freetown and Kissi Bendu. Prominent among them were the donations to the flood victims in Freetown, the reinstatement of the Koindu market on Sundays two years after the end of Ebola epidemic, the detonation of the arms and ammunitions in Buedu left behind by the RUF fifteen years after the end of the civil war and the establishment of a multipurpose library complex in Koindu. We are ready to work with you people in Kono so that you can also benefit from some of these opportunities, he added. Mr. Kpaleyea, in his welcome address stated that they have long been waiting for the extension of KISDO to Kono and they are more than happy and willing to work hard to be the best of the KISDO branches. He promised that they will soon show their determination.
In a similar operations, Mr. Moses Fayia and Mr. Emmanuel Fallah Fockoh (Acting Board Chairman) visited KISSI BENDU on May 3, 2019. Furthermore, Pastor Thomas Fallah Lendeh and Mr. Emmanuel Fallah Fockoh also visited Makeni on the July 28, 2019.
Plans are underway to visit Bo and Kenema in the next few weeks as these kissi communities can’t wait to join KISDO in its move to amalgamate all corners of Sierra Leone and beyond.
The major development that has sent dust in the air is the cassava farm project in Kono.
“Productivity is never an accident. It is always the result of a commitment to excellence, intelligent planning, and focused effort.” -Paul J. Meyer. In less than three months, the Kono chairman proudly told me yesterday in a telephone conversation that they have 30 fully registered and paid up members. The greatest achievement in this shortest time is the writing of a five acre cassava project costing just fifteen million Leones (Le. 15,000,000) which is equivalent to one thousand five handed USD ($ 1,500). While we are looking for funding, the members themselves have already paid compensation to the land owners out of their own pockets. To surprise us further, the tilling of the land has already started with men and women brushing with all their might as they enjoy their cassava porridge. In conclusion, “Long may be the tilling and the sowing late but the fruits will ripen if we toil and wait. LABORAMUS EXPECTANTES”. BRAVO TO KONO
Let the pictures speak for themselves.
